چکیده

In this paper, we study the high-order phase transition in random r-uniform hypergraphs. For a positive integer n and a real p ∈ [0, 1], let H := H(n, p) be the random r-uniform hypergraph on the vertex set [n], where each r-set is an edge with probability p independently. For 1 ≤ s ≤ r − 1 and two s-sets S and S, we say S is connected to S if there is a sequence of alternating s-sets and edges S0, F1, S1, F2, . . . , Fk, Sk which satisfies S0, S1, . . . , Sk are s-sets, S0 = S, Sk = S , F1, F2, . . . , Fk are edges of H , and Si−1 ∪ Si ⊂ Fi for each 1 ≤ i ≤ k. This is an equivalence relation over the family of all s-sets ( [n] s ) and results a partition: ( V s ) = ∪iCi. Each Ci is called an s-th-order connected component and a component Ci is a giant s-th-order connected component if |Ci| = Θ(n ). We prove that the sharp threshold of the existence of the s-th-order giant connected components in H(n, p) is 1+o(1) (

In-situ HRPD study of superstructure OII phase in polycrystalline samples of YBCOx at 300 ºC

Superstructure orthorhombicII (OII) phase in polycrystalline samples of YBCOx was observed by using synchrotron in-situ high resolution powder diffraction (HRPD) techniques at 300˚C. Rietveld method (RM) refinement was employed to analyse the collected diffraction data under proper oxygen partial pressure atmospheres. Our study indicates that by oxygen uptake, the samples undergo structural pha...

Eight-potential-well order-disorder ferroelectric model and effects of random fields

An eight-potential-well order-disorder ferroelectric model was presented and the phase transition was studied under the mean-field approximation. It was shown that the two-body interactions are able to account for the first-order and the second order phase transitions. With increasing the random fields in the system, a first-order phase transition is transformed into a second-order phase transi...

EFFECT OF THE NEXT-NEAREST NEIGHBOR INTERACTION ON THE ORDER-DISORDER PHASE TRANSITION

In this work, one and two-dimensional lattices are studied theoretically by a statistical mechanical approach. The nearest and next-nearest neighbor interactions are both taken into account, and the approximate thermodynamic properties of the lattices are calculated. The results of our calculations show that: (1) even though the next-nearest neighbor interaction may have an insignificant ef...

Phase Transitions and all that

Since the experimental paper of Cheeseman, Kanefsky and Taylor [1] phase transitions in combinatorial problems held the promise to shed light on the “practical” algorithmic complexity of combinatorial problems. However, the connection conjectured in [1] was easily seen to be inaccurate. A much more realistic possible connection has been highlighted by the results (based on experimental evidence...

Isotropic to nematic transition of aerosil-disordered liquid crystals.

We present a high-resolution study of the isotropic to nematic phase transition of a low birefringence liquid-crystal compound incorporating an aerosil gel. Calorimetry, light scattering, and microscopy data coherently combine to allow for an accurate determination of the temperature dependence of the onset of the nematic state. The nematic order develops on cooling through two distinct process...
